Yesterday’s Senior retreat was an awakening experience! After an entire day of meditation and learning activities, our students received a special visit from Helga Rosado, the director of the Puerto Rico Muscular Dystrophy Assosiation (MDA), Larry Degaldo, the MDA Fundraiser Coordinator, and Verónica Guzmán, an Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) patient who shared her story with us.
Verónica gave an inspirational testimony expressing how she grew spiritually during the process of being diagnosed with ALS and learning how to live with this condition, “When I was first diagnosed with ALS, it felt like someone through a bucket of ice over my head”. She also shared her opinion regarding the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, “This challenge has changed the life of those who suffer this condition. It has given us hope and it has showed us that we are not alone.”
Moments after, the class of 2015, our head of school, Dan Hildebrand, and our upper school principal, Sandy Rosenbaum, did the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge and made their donations to this tremendous cause!
Robinson School wants to continue encouraging donations, so we invite our community to visit the MDA website and make a donation today! www. prmda.org
