This past Friday, our alumni Karol Oviedo (class of 2015) and Julián Fernández Garnik (class of 2012) took the stage at Cinema Bar in the Cuartel de Ballajá at Old San Juan. “Monologueando” was the title of this performance which comprised four monologues by four emerging Puerto Rican actors.
Karol mesmerized the public with her wit and charm as she performed “La Pepa está en la Ashford” by Juan González Bonilla ,and Jualián gave a breathtaking performance as he presented “ETC.” by Luis Rafael Sánchez. All presentations distinguished themselves for different reasons, and they all mirrored life in Puerto Rico in the present day. As expressed in this article by the Post Antillano, Julián’s awing stage presence and Karol’s physical acting and talent for improvising made them shine as the great actors that they are.
After the four monologues, the actors engaged in an improvisation piece titled “Líneas” which consisted on taking phrases from the audience and integrating them into the improvised dialogue. The audience was completely delighted by this piece.
We celebrate our alumni’s achievements and how they proudly represent Robinson School! Congratulations to Julián and Karol for their captivating performance! Hawk pride!!!
