Recently, our MS students presented their latest art exhibition, An Exploration of Art. Students manipulated universal forms and principles in design and explored the concept of nature through a variety of techniques and art mediums, with special focus on paper art as a vehicle for visual representation. As expressed by Middle School art teacher, Tania Guerrero, “They recognized the potential of paper art in the context of interdisciplinary projects and the creation of multidimensional images.” They also experimented and made direct connections with nature as a source of the raw materials used to elaborate paper as well as a source of inspiration for artists around the world. From paper sculptures to a Japanese Paper theater (Kamishibai), our students immersed themselves into the wonderful world of paper art. We hope you had a chance to see it, but if not, here are some beautiful photos to enjoy!
