This November, we celebrated some amazing student art exhibitions!
Art, Tea and IB showcased our elementary students’ artistic talent, creativity and how art has been integrated into our IB PYP Program. Our 6th grade created African masks out of papier-mâché to celebrate elements of our Puerto Rican heritage. Our 5th grade sketched drawings inspired by the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris and transformed them into watercolor paintings. The 4th grade created illuminated letters inspired by medieval art. The 3rd grade explored light and shadow through the still lifes. Our 2nd graders made colorful collages inspired by Pablo Picasso’s work. The 1st grade forged clay tiles inspired by prehistoric cave drawings. Kindergarten used collage to explore their emotions through the use of color. Pre-K created images of fish in their habitats. Finally, Pre-Pre K, used mixed media works to show how to take care of pets.
We are proud to include donations from this exhibit in our online Christmas Auction, which goes live at our Christmas Tree Lighting Event this Friday, December 4 from 3-8pm. Original student artwork from this exhibit was carefully selected and will be available to bid on and buy! Please enjoy some of the beautiful images of our students artwork, including some pieces that will be available at the auction!
