Last week was our first week of school! We are very excited for this new school year and all the wonderful events to come. As you know, we are even closer to receiving our IB accreditation, for which our new teachers recently received an orientation about the Primary Years Program (PYP), the Middle Years Program (MYP), and our ultimate goal of adding the IB Diploma Program to become an IB World School. Gabriel English, English Department Supervisor and Coordinator of the MYP, offered a presentation focusing on innovative ways to evaluate our students. Assessment in an IB World School distinguishes itself from the traditional assessments, and our teachers have already integrated these new models into their classrooms.
Other events from our first week of school:
- Toddler Program- we welcomed our youngest students ever! They’re already playing and learning and showing off that great Robinson spirit.
- Senior Class Entrance- the Seniors stormed the gym to commence their senior year and welcome the entire student body!
- Our Buddy Program- Seniors met their kinder buddies who they will take under their wing for the entire year to develop lasting bonds. The little ones receive support to begin their lives as big boys and girls, and the Seniors become more empathetic, caring and principled as they help their new friends. The kindergartners take pride in being at Robinson School and learn by example what kind of students they will become. They paired up and pledged to be the best buddies they can for each other this coming year.
