Welcome to the Robinson School Family
As new parents, we are sure that you have plenty of questions that need answering. Here, you will find the answers to the most common concerns that new parents have.
What dates are really important?
We highly encourage you to attend our Welcome Back Night. This time is for all parents, but it will be especially helpful for you. Set aside a few hours to get to know your child´s teachers personally and find out the general expectations from your child.

What books and materials will my child need?
Book and materials lists are always sent by mail before the beginning of the school year. Knowing that these can be misplaced for many reasons, we also have them available online so that you can download them at your convenience. You can locate these here. For individualized Pathways books and materials, please contact Mari Tere Larrieu at 787-999-4640.

Where do I buy uniforms?
Uniforms can be purchased at Uniforms Outlet, Inc. It is located at Ave. Fernández Juncos #477, Parada 8 in Puerta de Tierra, San Juan. The number is 787-782-8444.

How does the cafeteria work?
Monchy´s Café is open for breakfast, snack, and lunch. The cafeteria works on a prepaid system. Parents can pay on a monthly, semester or annual basis. Those who do not wish to partake of the prepaid system can pay for lunch at its regular price of $5.00 for elementary school students and $5.50 for high school students. The cost includes a beverage of their choice.

Where do I drop my child off for school on the first day of school?
We have implemented a “Kiss and Go” drop off process and it works extremely well. As you approach the drop off zone in the front or in the back, we will have adults and upper school students there to help your child exit the vehicle. Just give your child a kiss and then have him/her exit your car as quickly as possible. Please have shoes, socks, etc. on prior to arriving on campus. This is critical since we also enforce tardies to school.

What if I have a preschool child?
Parents are encouraged to drop their preschool children off in the back with one of our Honors students or an adult. The escorts will take your child directly to the classroom. If you would like to accompany your child to class, please use parking facilities off campus.

Can I park on campus?
Due to the shortage of long term parking on campus, parents who wish to stay on campus with their children must find other parking alternatives. The Nairn street entrance in particular, including the circle drive, is not available for extended parking. If parking along Placid Court, please refrain from blocking any residential entrances.

What do I do if my child is late to school?
When an Elementary School students arrive after 7:30 am, they must go directly to the receptionist´s office to receive an admissions slip. Middle and Upper School students arriving after 7:30 am must also go directly to the receptionist´s office to receive an admissions slip. To avoid disruptions to the educational program, the student will be held until the beginning of the next class period in the Dean of Students´ office.

What if I have an emergency and cannot pick my child up on time?
Students must be picked up promptly after their last activity on campus. Elementary students may not, at any time, be unsupervised on campus. They must remain with their tutors, in Cuido or in the activity in which they participated until they are picked up by a parent. Middle and Upper School students must be supervised by an adult after school. They may be outside the gym area only if they are waiting to be picked up and may remain there no longer than ten minutes.

What do I do if my child is ill and cannot attend school?
Parents are requested to call the school before 7:30 a.m. to report a student´s absence. Otherwise, the school will call the student´s home during the day of absence. All absences must be explained by a note from home. The note is due on the first day the student returns to school. The note must contain the date, student´s full name, grade, the signature of the parent, reason for the absence and the date(s) of absence.

How do I arrange tutoring for my child?
To arrange for tutoring or supervised studies, please contact Glorybell Vega at 787-999-4641.

Who is the first person I call if I have a question or doubt?
For everything to do with instruction, including teachers, curriculum and assessment please contact Karen Colón at 787-999-4621. The day to day operations, which includes everything except the instructional program please contact Diabel Segarra at 787-999-4620.

How do I know what is happening at school?
You can browse our Upcoming Events section on the website. If you have any further questions, call the school at 787-999-4604. We´ll be sure to help you out!

Where do I go if I need to pick my child up early or if I need to drop something off?
If a student must leave school premises before the end of the school day, the student´s parent must obtain an early dismissal slip from the Receptionist and present it to the school security when leaving campus. Designated school personnel will accompany the student from class to the reception office. Under no circumstances should a parent remove a student from class.

Parents desiring to deliver items, messages and / or materials to their children must first report to school security. Once logged in with security, parents will then proceed to the School´s receptionist. Parents may not enter a classroom during the school day without appropriate authorization.

What do I do if my child has a medical condition?
We want to be sensitive to the needs of our students and encourage parents to disclose any medical conditions that may affect the child at school. Robinson School personnel will not administer any medication unless it has been previously authorized on the Medication Authorization Form. Parents must inform the school in writing if a student is temporarily required to take any medication while at school or has any specific health-related issues that need follow up, for example, diabetes, special nutrition needs, allergies, etc. For medications, the written statement must include the doctor´s recommended interventions. Please contact the appropriate Division Head with any important information.

The student handbook is very important because it outlines the rules of the school and is available on this website. We also send a printed copy home with each student.
