Robinson School meets the needs of its students through a classical yet flexible curriculum, an inquiry-based, in-depth approach to teaching, which emphasizes creativity, exploration, and self expression.  Group discussions, project-based activities, and class brainstorming sessions are common instructional approaches.  Classes are small by design and instructional groups are formed by balancing chronological age, ability, socio-emotional development and learning pace.  Experienced, trained teachers closely monitor student progress.

The faculty prepares young men and women for lives of intellectual discovery, integrity and purpose.  We teach students how to learn and develop an enthusiasm for acquiring knowledge. Through academic excellence, sound values, respect for individual strengths, and the awareness that we are part of a larger community; each individual comes to understand his or her own significance as a valuable and contributing member of the world.

Our admission process is carefully designed to admit qualified students who are capable of benefiting from the school’s college preparatory curriculum or our unique Pathways Program.  The Admissions Office works to identify, attract and retain a diverse group of students who possess the following characteristics: intellectual curiosity, willingness to serve others and the community, self motivation, a solid work ethic, admirable character, special talents and enthusiasm for involvement in the school’s extracurricular activities.

Although admission procedures and criteria vary according to the grade level and program to which the student is applying, the process includes a combination of the following: developmental skills assessment, behavior observation, standardized testing, past academic and citizenship record, writing samples, teacher recommendations, and a personal interview with faculty or admissions personnel.
