Senior year can be quite hectic, particularly with college application deadlines approaching. Consider following this suggested timeline:

• Make an appointment with your counselor for you and your parents to discuss your college plans.
• Request applications from colleges and universities. Set up a file system to keep track of the steps in the process.  If you do not do this, you will become lost in the details.
• Register for the SAT, College Board and/or SAT Subject Tests.
• Stay abreast of all scholarship opportunities.
• Review high school records, including all graduation requirements.
• Continue with your community service projects.
• Visit colleges and universities.
• Talk to admissions representatives who visit Robinson School.
• Seek out financial aid opportunities and apply as appropriate.
• Talk with the College Counselor about your academic progress.
• Complete application essays.
• Fill out applications by November 1.
• Keep track of all college deadlines.
• Seek letters of recommendation if needed. Give teachers and the College Counselor sufficient notice.
• Complete a résumé.

• If appropriate, have your parents complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and other financial aid forms, if required by the college, and file after January 1st.

• Maintain good grades and a good attendance record.
• Notify your counselor of your application status as you hear from the colleges.
• Request a final transcript to be sent to the college you will attend in the fall.
• Notify the colleges you are not planning to attend.
