Before working at Robinson, Carlos worked as the Athletics Director at another private school in Puerto Rico. “I was part of the executive committee of the Puerto Rico High School Athletic Alliance and, in 2002, at one of the reunions, I met the Robinson headmaster and Alex Rivera, who immediately asked me to work for them. I had two job offers at the time, but I had my son to consider, and without a doubt, Robinson was the best place for him to grow up.”
Carlos told us that one of the things that makes him proud about working at Robinson is how the students are so caring. Our elementary students even call him grandpa! “I love waking up each morning knowing I’ll give a class that will make my students happy, that I’ll see my co-workers and enjoy the harmony around us.” One sixth grade graduation and a Baccalaureate ceremony were once dedicated to him. Our students, faculty and staff, admire him a lot.
“I have seen the school change and grow both in the physical aspect as well as the academic offerings.” Technology is a big part of the school, and we are always working on teaching in the most advanced way possible. He thinks the way the school is organized is, “without a doubt”, the best way.
“Robinson is unique because students feel the harmony and they feel free. Elementary, Middle and Upper Schools are always united and the school’s IB program helps with that.” One of the ways the school helps unite different grades is through our Senior-Buddy Program, an activity that helps students feel like they belong, like they can always ask for help and they should always be open to help.
Carlos is a fanatic of the cinema, he loves going to the movies. He also loves spending as much time as possible with his family, staying at small hotels around the island while enjoying local tourism.
