Félix Ramón Valles
Position: Maintenance Supervisor
Before working at Robinson School (more than 50 years ago) Ramon used to work in construction in Miramar, Santurce with his cousin. Wanting to broaden his horizons, he decided to look for another job. It was then that Ramón found Robinson, or better yet, Robinson found Ramón.
He has been working here almost his whole life. Finding friends and loyalty within the staff, students and parents. He knows all there is to know about the Robinson School structure, “even all the electricity and water connections underground” he says proudly.
He has always been shy and quiet but in the past years he began to open up more. “Before, I used to think of this as just a job, now I understand I’m part of an important community”. He never misses chapel service, enjoys helping everyone, and even comes for coffee on his day off.
“In Robinson there is no hierarchy, maintenance staff is treated the same as the teachers and the administration.” He feels “as good as ever” working here. “Robinson parents have always been good people,” acknowledges Ramón, “and that’s a big part of the magic of our school.”
Ramón is a family man with 2 daughters and 1 grandson. He likes to go home after a long day’s work and relax while watching “feel-good” television. When he was younger, his passion was working on cars and car racing. He doesn’t race anymore but he still enjoys cars as a topic of conversation.
