Dear Robinson Parents:
Many of you have probably heard the news that Baldwin School closed through Spring Break because of some cases of Whooping Cough. Because we had a high school team there this afternoon, I have contacted a number of people including James Nelligan, Head of Baldwin. What I have learned is that the cases and suspected cases of Whooping Cough are confined to Baldwin’s third and fourth grades. They do not believe that it is likely that our high school athletes came into contact with sick or contagious students and apparently Baldwin’s administration acted of their own accord, before any action from the health department.
Please be aware that we will be rechecking the immunization records of all Robinson students and requiring any parent of a student whose immunizations are not up to date, to contact their pediatrician and get their records updated before returning to school.
We appreciate your attention to this matter and appreciate Baldwin’s quick handling of their situation.
