Middle School started their book discussion group with an enthusiasm that lasted all year. These Bookworms read the Divergent trilogy during the 1st semester and for the 2nd semester they read Ender’s Game and The Book Thief. In each discussion session they shared their ideas and impressions on the plot and characters. They had two Film Afternoons to watch the film adaptations of Ender’s Game and The Book Thief where they compared both versions (film and novel). They got to discuss Zusak’s novel and watch the film with the Casual Readers and share their insight on what was going on at that historical period. Plus, they got the chance to watch Divergent at the movie theater. They also volunteered at the 1st book fair and at the Elementary Library’s Reading Extravaganza. The group ended the activities of this academic year with a book talk and a conversation with Edgar Rosado, one of the organizers of the Comic Con, about comic books.
