A message from our NHS Chapter Advisor, José J Ortiz:
I am very proud of my Robinson School Puerto Rico NHS team.
Everything that has taken place in the last two weeks – NHS week and Friday’s Induction Ceremony – represents a great accomplishment from their part.
Every single event in the calendar for NHS week and every component of the Induction was product of their design. The students were organized in committees for two major parallel activities. They were involved in every step of the planning; organization; managed strategic meetings with the school administration to negotiate every single event; they handled purchases (and sometimes even facilitated their free time and resources); they wrote the speeches presented during NHS week to the Elementary, Middle and High School and the Induction; handled school wide decorations; even organized a Flash Mob! and more.
The Induction was no exception. It was a very touching, sincere and enjoyable ceremony. Our Induction is scheduled after school to facilitate the presence of parents and family members. Every part in the script was delivered to the audience by the same student who contributed by writing it.
As for the dedication, the ceremony was dedicated to both the students’ parents and to the Division Heads: Mrs. Sandra Rosenbaum, Mrs. Enid Camacho and Mrs. Mari Tere Larrieu. The student who delivered the dedication, Claudia Ouviña Ryan wrote:
“As teenagers we tend to think we know it all, however the reality is that we don’t. I believe we can achieve everything we want, but with support and love everything is easier. This ceremony is dedicated to the people who have never given up on us and see the best in everything we do. Without your motivation, guidance, and unconditional devotion this achievement we celebrate would not have happened”. It was also dedicated to the Division Heads because – as the script reads – “without your support and encouragement, we would not be here today. Thanks to the values and principles that you teach us on a daily basis, we continuously work to become men and women of good for the future. You challenge us to become ‘the best of the best of the best’ every day in our careers.”
Congratulation to all the students who are part of this amazing organization!
