Psychologist, Dr. Marion Wennerholm, visited with our students to celebrate Puerto Rican contributions in the field of Psychology. Giselle López, Upper School Social Studies teacher, invited Dr. Wennerholm during “Puerto Rico Week” (November 16-20), the week when Robinson celebrates Puerto Rican culture and achievements.
Together, Dr. Wennerholm and Dr. Lucy López Roig (late aunt of Ms. López) founded the psychology firm, Lucy López Roig and Associates here in PR in 1978. This well-respected firm continues to offer a variety of services today. (For more information, visit: http://www.lucylopezroig.com/english/)
Dr. López Roig was one of the most distinguished psychologists on the island, specializing in both Industrial/Organizational Psychology and Clinical Psychology. Dr. Wennerholm is a clinical psychologist with years of experience in both fields as well. Both women were associate professors at Interamerican University and Carlos Albizu University, at the graduate level. Students took advantage of the opportunity to learn more about the Psychology, its history on the island and possible future careers.
Thank you, Dr. Wennerholm and Mrs. López, for this excellent opportunity to learn more about Psychology and its different careers options! We also thank you for helping us remember and celebrate highly respected Puerto Ricans who have made significant contributions to their chosen fields.
