This Christmas, Robinson Spanish teachers and students joined Macy’s annual Make-a Wish/Believe campaign. This campaign invites children of all ages to write Santa a letter and help make wishes come true. For every letter dropped off at a Macy’s store or sent online through December 24, Macy’s donates $1 to Make-A-Wish®, up to $1 million. This initiative stems from students’ desire to support and honor their fellow Robinson student, Ana Cecilia Abilleira, for her courage and example. Robinson students join thousands of others to help grant the wishes of every child diagnosed with a life-threatening medical condition.
This year, Macy’s announced that they would increase their donation to $2 for each letter that was sent by December 11. Robinson students knew that they had to take advantage of this opportunity! After collecting as many letters to Santa as they could, our students headed over to the Macy’s store in Plaza las Americas for an event filled with music and holiday cheer. They were accompanied by Cindy Ogg, our Head of School, Rosangélica Acevedo, our Chaplain, and Janette Santiago, our Business Manager. Together, they delivered 415 letters to Santa! That’s $830 towards making wishes come true for kids battling serious illnesses.
We are so proud of the students, teachers, and staff members who were involved in this holiday act of giving! Congratulations and big shout-out to you!
