During the summer of 2016, the senior students Jose Ramirez and Hector Fuentes have been working alongside science professor, Mr. Torres Alcala, on a research project in Vermont. The title for this project was “Comparative Study of Water Quality Levels Before and After Drought of Two Streams in San Juan, PR.” These students and their professor traveled in June 2016 for them to take courses about water monitoring and macroinvertebrates. Starting in August 2016 until February 2017 they have been working on Saturdays on the analysis of the quality of water of two rivers in San Juan and analyzing the data obtained during those months. After months of research, the time has come for the students to present their poster and defend their research. This presentation is not a competition but an activity where students from different parts of the United States and Puerto Rico will show their research work on water. From March 24-28 the presentation event took place at the VT EPSCoR Symposium 2017 in Vermont.
We would like to congratulate José, Hector, and Mr. Torres for their dedication and effort during this research!
Way to go guys!
