Educational Technology Specialist and Design Technology Teacher

This position is a combined teaching and administrative position, with instructional responsibilities in the middle and upper school and a role as technology leader and coach for Robinson’s educational technology initiatives PK-12. The ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas:

Educational Technology Specialist and Design Technology Teacher

Requirements – Educational / Instructional Technology Integrator:

  • A proven record of leadership in the area of technology integration and training for faculty and staff PPK-12
  • Understanding of and expertise regarding the educational technology and 21st century needs of students and teachers
  • A demonstrated record of coordinating effective faculty, staff, student and parent training in various educational technology areas and tools
  • Ability to serve as direct support for faculty and staff, as well as a liaison between faculty and the IT department
  • Dominance of Microsoft 365 tools and apps for education is mandatory
  • Dominance of Microsoft 10 platform strongly desired
  • Experience working with and implementing the Canvas learning management platform strongly desired
  • Specialist in blended and online learning models of education, with a proven record of implementing effective blended learning initiatives in a school setting
  • Ability to receive and/or identify educational technology issues of students, faculty and staff and create effective solutions
  • Record of identifying, evaluating educational technology tools and applications and developing and maintaining a database of appropriate and effective tools for faculty, staff and student use in the classroom
  • Ability to assist IT department with hardware and software needs of students, faculty and staff
  • Develop, implement and evaluate the technology action plans of the school
  • Identify technology opportunities, trends, and strategies for collaboration to advance the mission and plans of the school. Apply instructional technology standards, methodologies, and principles to school needs, objectives, and outcomes
  • Establish, lead and participate in technology committee meetings and PLC sessions to raise awareness and enthusiasm and build collegial relationships around teaching and technology
  • Provide orientations and training (online and in-person) for entering students, faculty and staff by designing and developing customized documentation and other training opportunities.

Requirements – Design Technology Teacher:

  • Dynamic, engaging and committed 21st-century educator
  • Student-centered, interdisciplinary approach to teaching and learning
  • Expertise in Design Thinking and Technology instruction, as well as modern pedagogical approaches
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet individual needs and achieve high-level outcomes for all students
  • Highly experienced in the integration of educational technology in all subject areas, particularly in Design
  • A commitment to be an active participant in school and community life
  • A willingness and/or ability to serve as a homeroom teacher, sponsor student clubs, activities or organizations
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and Spanish
  • A record as a strong collaborator and contributing team member
  • Experience in developing high-quality Design and Technology curriculum
  • The ability to gather, analyze and use student achievement data to adapt curriculum and instruction

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in education or related field, required
  • Masters’ Degree in Instructional/Educational Technology, Information Technology or related field, preferred
  • Microsoft 365 and Windows 10, required
  • Programming/Coding experience preferred
  • Google Apps for education, preferred
  • Teaching experience in the subject area


Substitute Teachers - All Grade Levels

Requirements:

  • A willingness and/or ability to serve as a homeroom teacher, sponsor student clubs, activities or organizations
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and Spanish
  • A strong collaborator and contributing team member

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, or related field, required, Master’s preferred
  • Teaching experience in the subject area
  • Experience in curriculum design and development preferred
  • Experience teaching in IB World Schools preferred
