Last week Janell Burley Hofmann, author of the book iRules, visited our school to talk to students, teachers and parents about a balanced and healthy use of technology. These conversations were insightful. Students opened up and shared their positive and challenging experience with technology, then shared empowering rules they could follow. Parents got ideas on how to address issues of concern. Teachers also had the space to share their positive and challenging experiences with technology in the classroom and how to address them. Members of the EPIC Book Club had the chance to talk with Janell one-on-one about Slow Tech Parenting over dinner.
It was an enriching week, where we learned from each other’s points of views and began a conversation that we hope will continue at home as well as in our campus.
