Adriana Kraiselburd is Robinson School’s Elementary Music Teacher for grades PPK to 6th Grade. Some of her school’s projects include directing the Drama/Musical Theater Club, The Choir Club and the Vocal Coaching Club. Last year she directed Beauty and the Beast, Jr. where many students had the opportunity to show their musical theater talents and skills.
She graduated from the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico and obtained a Master’s of Music degree in voice from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. She has studied under Olga Makarina of the Metropolitan Opera House, and Ilca López, during her undergraduate years. As a Robinson School alumna (Class of 99’) she is very committed to enhance and contribute to our school’s standard of excellence. Adriana Kraiselburd is director of the SER de PR Choir, a very special project which she organized and founded five years ago. She was a faculty member of the Music Department of Interamerican University (UI), and directed the UI musical theater vocal ensemble. She was a member of the faculty of the “100 x 35 Program” offered by the Conservatory of Music of PR. She has participated in programs for young artists such as the International Vocal Arts Institute in Israel and Canada, the Austrian-American Mozart Academy in Salzburg and the Bel Canto Institute in Florence. She has participated in recitals, concerts and operas and zarzuelas in Puerto Rico, Austria, Israel, Italy, Germany, California, and New York. She took part in the Young Artist Program of Tel Aviv, accompanied by the Chamber Orchestra of Israel. Her roles include Beppe in L’ Amico Fritz, Gretel in Hansel and Gretel, Lucy in The Two-Penny Opera, The First Lady in The Magic Flute and Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro. She has been awarded the distinctions of “best female voice” and “best interpretation of an Italian aria” at the 2005 auditions of the Metropolitan Opera held in Puerto Rico and received the young singers award from the Fundación de Zarzuela y Opereta . In 2007, she received the Performance Award in Bel Canto from the Bel Canto Institute in Florence, Italy, and in 2009 she was selected as the Joven Destacada de Puerto Rico by the Comisión Puertorriqueña de la Juventud de la UNESCO.
Her next Musical Theater production at Robinson School will be The Little Mermaid, Jr.
